Re-Defining Successful Parenting

  • ecclēsia London City Mission Building, 1 Cornmill Lane, Elmira Street London, SE13 7FY United Kingdom (map)

The Young Motherhood Project and Our Fathers and Us have teamed up to host an afternoon of stimulating conversations around what it means to be a successful parent.

What are the stereotypes that stunt young mothers and black fathers? Where do we they come from? How do they impact the expectations we have of ourselves as parents or parents-to-be?

These are just some of the questions we'll be asking as we interrogate what our communities and society at large call a "successful" parent and what that means to us.

We'll also be screening a film from the Young Motherhood project produced followed by a Q + A where we'll get to discuss further concepts and misconceptions of young motherhood that the project explores.

Please note admission is free but to confirm attendance you will need to send an email to ourfathersandus@gmail.com with the subject line "RSVP Re-Defining Successful Parenting" and your name in the body of the email. Refreshments will be provided.
